cacti and craters

A hiatus from WI into warm and sunny AZ to visit relatives and camp....highlights include:

Hiking near our campsite north of Sedona.

Apparently Mama forgot her brush.

Happy camper!

Map (and potty) break.

My friend, the walking stick.

A WINDY time at Sunset Crater National Monument north of Flagstaff. A must-see for any 5-yr old who thinks volcanoes are the bee's knees.

Baby on lava.

Baby and big tree along Clear Creek trails.

Up close and personal with cacti as we hike around in Black Canyon.

See you later, sun. Back to gray March!!

mmmmmmmarch

What March lacks in warmth, immunity, or optimism, it makes up for in creative ways to co-exist....

Here we have The Baby Bus,

and The S.S. Sister.

And of course The If I Hide In Here She Won't Find Me and Pull Me Around.

Wise brother stays out of it and sticks to coloring.

Oh, March.

bundt or bust

Go Bundt or Go Home.

Daddy's out of town; Mama resorts to the Bundt to muddle through single-parenthood.

Flapping through the weekend,

one toybox nap at a time.

picture pages

In his non-school time, Louis works diligently at his desk churning out reams of....

Volcanoes. A few weeks ago we entered the volcano phase. Underwater volcanoes, tall volcanoes, blasting volcanoes, double volcanoes....lava everywhere.

Then we moved into the race car phase. Exhaust shooting into the air, and always an odd stunned look on the cars' faces.

Now we're full on into the space phase. Space: not only the final frontier, but also the endless source of many ideas for little boys. In fact, a whole wall of them....planets on your left, satellites and probes on your right, and moon in the middle.

Meanwhile, Annabelle perfects the portrait. This one she calls "Daddy on Wheels."
