tending the flock

Tending to our fine feathered (and snouted) friends....

Turkeys,

hens,

chicks,

chickens,

and piggies.

And marveling at the giant machinery in our fields lately.
Summer lingers on.

snouts R us

"Idle" is not a word that would describe our life in August.

Amidst the swirl of the harvest season, we launch into another endeavor and welcome two pigs.

OINK to snouts rooting around in fresh dirt. OINK to tossing old veggies in pigs' way. OINK to kids who are so excited with our new residents. OINK to summer.

harvest time

August is our culinary nirvana.

We set down our hoes,

tuck away our seed packets,

and revel in the veritable fruits of our labor

There are never enough meals in the day to savor it all.

But we do our best trying.

100 and rising

Homemade sprinkler chair keeps little booties cool in the 100 degree heat.

Trying to grab all those tiny water balls.

How can I possibly be related to these two goof-balls?

One is singing into a grass microphone, and the other keeps poking my mosquito bites....

the heat must go straight to their heads.
